Terms of service

Terms of service

These terms apply when you use tuckinbooks.com. Effective October 3, 2026. Questions: support@legiblestudio.com.

What we do

Tuck In Books makes custom picture books. You describe a story, choose a cast and a style, and we write and illustrate a book for you using software that includes artificial intelligence. You can preview the whole book for free, and you pay only if you decide to keep it.

You must be at least 18 to use the site. It is for adults making books for the children in their lives.

Your story idea

You are responsible for what you type into the site. Do not submit anything unlawful, hateful, sexual or violent, anything that belongs to someone else (such as characters, brands or text you don't have the right to use), or the likeness of a real person.

We recommend that you do not include a child's full name, address, school or other identifying details in a story idea. A first name or a made-up name is enough.

You give us permission to use your story idea to make your book and to operate the service. We may decline or remove a book that breaks these rules.

Your book

Once you have paid for a book, you may download, print, share and enjoy it for personal, non-commercial use. Please do not resell it or use it to train software.

We won't publish or advertise your book without asking you first.

Books are produced with the help of artificial intelligence, so a picture or a sentence can come out imperfect. That is why the preview is free: read the whole book before you buy it, and use "Something off in this picture?" to fix a page. Similar stories or pictures may be produced for other customers who describe similar ideas.

Reading levels

Our "They'll read it" books use words chosen for a reading level. They are meant for practice and enjoyment and aren't a substitute for reading instruction or professional advice.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you pay. Sales tax, where it applies, and shipping for printed books are added at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe; we don't receive or store your card number.

You can hold up to three unpaid books at a time, and daily limits apply to how many books can be made.

Printed books and shipping

Printed books are made to order by our printing partner and shipped to addresses in the United States. Production and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Please check your address carefully: the order goes to the printer right after payment.

Refunds

Digital books: you can read the whole book before paying, so a digital purchase is final once the book is unlocked. If we can't deliver the book you paid for, we'll refund you.

Printed books: because each one is made to order, we don't accept returns for a change of mind. If your copy arrives damaged or misprinted, email support@legiblestudio.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we'll replace it or refund it.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the law where you live.

The site

We work to keep the site running and your books available, but we don't promise it'll always be available or free of errors. Download your book after you buy it so that you have your own copy.

The site, its software, its artwork and the Tuck In Books name belong to us. Please do not copy them, misuse the site, or try to get around its limits.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about a book or an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and the version in effect when you place an order applies to that order.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.
